Compensation

What can you expect to earn as a referee for New Haven Youth Soccer games?

That depends on the league, age group that you are assigned to, as well as your level of experience.

Here is a guide for suggested levels of compensation that a referee can expect to receive:

1) Saturday morning Elm City Middle School League

    1 referee is assigned 2 back-to-back games, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM.
Referees make $85 for the 2 morning games as a center.
I will select some of our more experienced referees to center these matches.
Starting this fall, centers will have 2 ARs helping them out for each game.

2)  South Central District CJSA games payment schedule:

     a) CJSA U10 - $45 for the center, each of the 2 ARs gets $30 per match

     b) CJSA U12 $50 for the center, each of the 2 ARs gets $35 per match

     c) CJSA U14 $55 for the center, each of the 2 ARs gets $35 per match

     d) CJSA U16$60 for the center, each of the 2 ARs gets $40 per match

     e) CJSA U19$65 for the center, each of the 2 ARs gets $40 per match

3) CT State Cup payment schedule
Please note that the payment schedule for CT State Cup games differs
    slightly from SCD CJSA games:

        a) U11 - U12: $50 for the center, each of the 2 ARs gets $35 per match
        b) U13 - U14: $55 for the center, each of the 2 ARs gets $35 per match
        c) U15 - U19: $65 for the center, each of the 2 ARs gets $40 per match

* Please note that for CT State Cup matches, the home team pays the referees at the end of the game.  For further info about CT State Cup procedures, please click on this link.

Here are two tables for the duration of league matches in minutes per half, as well as the ball sizes for various age groups, as determined by the South Central District for "Travel" matches and by CJSA for State Cup matches:
